Since their debut, TVXQ has become one of the most popular singing groups in East Asia, gaining great popularity in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and other East Asian countries. TVXQ is referred to as Dong Bang Shin Ki (????) in South Korea; fans often abbreviate the name to DBSK. The Japanese equivalent of the group's name is Tohoshinki (????), which is promotionally only used in Japan. TVXQ, the acronym based on the Chinese counterpart of their name, is the abbreviation officially used on all products and advertisements outside of Japan. TVfXQ is also used, but not often. Their name roughly translates as "Rising gods of the East." (??? ?? ????)

[TRANS] 101220 Three Uncomfortable Questions Asked To The Three Guys Of JYJ

Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu and YoungWoong Jaejoong. Three guys who are now called JYJ, not TVXQ. They are currently healing from the 'heartbreak' from their legal dispute and past ordeals. As many can see, they are going at full power on their activities. However, the fans who are watching over them have conflicting feelings. It is more so as U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin, who are left in the team, have decided to make a comeback as TVXQ next January. On the afternoon of the 15th, the chilliest day of the year, we asked the three members, who visited the editorial office hidden in thick coats, questions that fans have been wanting to ask. We picked the three questions that reporters have been most curious about, which may cause them to be the most uncomfortable questions for the three members to answer. Though we worried at first that they might have sensitive reactions to our questions, the members stated that they were finally able to speak of the emotions they had been containing for so long and their words seemed to cry out in relief as they could finally 'blow off some steam'.

1. Do you stay in contact with the two other members? (No)
-It feels like the communication satellite has been blocked. They've probably changed their phone numbers by now

"I tried calling them a couple of times. There were even times when the call went through. But suddenly, it stopped working." (Jaejoong)

Our question and answer session began immediately with an awkward question. These five guys have been living under the same roof and nurturing their dreams together. But as they each chose the road they wished to take, the situation became tangled. The wall of reality that is blocking is them is as high as it can be. We first asked them if they have been keeping in contact with U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin, who have announced their comeback as TVXQ next January. This is something that fans have been most curious about.

"It feels like the communication satellite has been blocked. They've probably changed their (phone) numbers by now." (Jaejoong)

A few words continued back and forth after this. While we were at it, we decided to ask them how they felt when they learned of Yunho and Changmin's comeback. The members, who had been wearing bitter expressions till then, finally erased this expression from their faces. Our prediction that they would show subtle feelings of disapproval was completely wrong.

"Of course we're supporting them. We hope that they perform in a manner that is fitting to the name TVXQ." (Junsu)

The two other members, Micky Yoochun and YoungWoong Jaejoong, began to nod. The three members confessed that Yunho and Changmin frequently appeared in their dreams.

"When we were caught up in the happening (lawsuit), we were at a point where we couldn't talk about things with other people. Those days were so frustrating. Back then, our two friends frequently appeared in our dreams. There were times when they would appear in the dreams of all three of us at once." (Jaejoong) "During the afterparty of the showcase, we all hugged each other and cried our eyes out. I think we did that because we felt so frustrated and stuffy." (Junsu)

At their position on top, they have each chosen their separate roads. But their friendship has not changed. We wondered what effect the recent news of H.O.T's reunion had on the members. At our cautious question asking if we would be able to see the five members on one stage in the future, they gave us their answer as if it was obvious.

"We're keeping the possibility open. If it can be done..." (Junsu) "Just because we're keeping the possibility open, doesn't mean it will definitely happen, but our support for them will never change. But I feel it will take a long time for such a thing to happen." (Yoochun)

2. Breaking away, do you regret it? (No)
-Though it wasn't easy standing alone, we're thankful that we're able to stand on stage

"Everything feels more desperate these days. But we don't regret our decision." (Junsu)

Last year, JYJ left SM Entertainment, one of Korea's leading agencies. It is like the New York Yankees of the Major League or Manchester United of the Premier League. SM has an orderly system for its singers and does not hesitate in supporting its singers. It is an agency that any singer would clamor to work under. Therefore, the members admitted that the process of standing alone wasn't an easy one.

"We are so thankful even to be able to release and album and stand on stage. We were able to reflect on ourselves a lot." (Jaejoong) "It was something we had taken into consideration and anticipated. We had to start fresh and rebuild everything." (Junsu) "Even the parts that are supposed to be easy were difficult for us." (Jaejoong)

When asked to elaborate, this was their answer, "There was a natural disaster. We invested 900 million Won to make the stadium into a dome, and were the first people to do so in the world, but never did we think there would be hail... It's not that we feel it was a waste of money, we were just disappointed that we wouldn't be able to perform with such facilities." (Jaejoong)

The members' gazes deepened and their expressions became resolute with determination. Junsu opened his mouth to say, "If we had ten choices open to us in the past, now we have 2 or 3. Things have changed as what once only took 1 or 2 tries to open, now take at least 10 times to attain the same things."

3. Why aren't you holding domestic activities? (...)
-Broadcasting companies are ignoring us as our lawsuit is not yet over. It's not that we aren't, it's that we can't.

"Even the fans know very well that it's not that we're choosing not to hold activities domestically. It feels weird when people ask us why we're taking a break for so long when we're so busy with various activities." (Yoochun)

JYJ released their worldwide album in October. They also held showcases in seven cities across Asia and North America. They met with around 70,000 fans on November 27th and 28th during their concert. But some have pointed out that JYJ's activities seem to be leaning towards those held overseas. The disappointment of domestic fans is quite large too. But the members stressed that it isn't that they choosing not to perform in Korea, it's that they can't.

"No matter how popular we are overseas, we are still Korean singers. It feels strange and odd that we can't perform in Korea with the album that we released. It's not that we're staying away from domestic activities. Everything feels like it's being bottled up. I hope it gets better soon." (Junsu)

Broadcasting companies have been ignoring them as their legal dispute has not ended yet. The only instance where JYJ have been given a chance to perform is their upcoming performance at the '2010 KBS Drama Acting Awards' on the 31st that pulled through due to Micky Yoochun's appearance on KBS 2TV's 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal'

Even the fans are feeling a thirst for domestic activities. Threads of various music programs have been and still are being flooded by requests for JYJ's appearance. The fans' solidarity has become stronger.

[NEWS] 101210 JYJ's Junsu Cast in Leading Role for Musical "Tears of Heaven"

JYJ’s Junsu will be heading overseas next for the Great White Way, as he’s been casted for a leading role in the Broadway musical, “Tears of Heaven“.

Considered to be the ambitious work of Seol Company’s CEO, Seol Do Yoon, and Core Content Media’s Kim Gwang Su, the production revolves around a love triangle set during the Vietnam War between a Korean soldier, a female Vietnamese singer, and an American officer. Junsu has been casted for the role of ‘Jun Hyung’, the Korean soldier that falls in love with the Vietnamese singer, ‘Lin’. ‘Jun Hyung’ later becomes a famous composer and the father to his daughter that he had with Lin.

Seol Company reportedly set aside $10 million USD for production costs alone. The musical is scheduled to open for December 27th in Korea, and will run for a month there before being taken overseas to Japan and Europe. A performance in the States by 2012 has been pinned as their ultimate goal.

Representatives of Seol Company revealed on December 10th, “We cannot give a confirmation statement right now regarding the cast line-up. All final casting decisions will be made public at the production conference to be held on the 13th. By February, this musical will be performed all over Asia, including Japan and Hong Kong. The ultimate goal is Broadway.”

Composer Frank Wildhorn of “Dracula” and “Jekyll & Hyde” will be producing the songs, while Junsu will be working alongside Broadway star Brad Little.

[TRANS] 101207 MASTER POST - JYJ Twitter Update

Junsu quotes the Song that Gave him Hope (Song title-Golden Star from Mozart!)
(Junsu) The King would say this, that the world is full of destruction. He said 'I will not look outside and will protect you in this world'. He raised the palace walls and firmly closed the door. But, unable to stop his racing heart, the prince dreamed of the world on the other side of the palace walls. Now, he must leave that place, cross over the palace walls and leave on a journey to find that star~ (11:00am KST)

(Junsu) The reasons why you are living in this dangerous world, if you want to know all this, you must set out on a journey alone. Love does not confine, love sets you free. Sometimes you must endure pain, love is tears... That is love. When the golden star falls, you must leave on a journey that leads you to the world (11:03am KST)

(Junsu) On a night when the Big Dipper shines bright, cross over those high palace walls, and fly towards that world, a place no one has ever gone before..Fly... Golden Star gave me light, courage and hope during the hardest of times.. I really like the lyrics to this song.. (11:05am KST)

(Junsu) I'm the major, I'm the minor, I'm the harmony, I'm the melody. Within my words, my sentences and my music.. I'm the beat, I'm the rest, I'm the harmony. I'm the forte, I'm the piano, dance and fantasy. I am, I'm, I'm the music.......... Love me just the way I am (11:33am KST)

(Junsu) With a melody that seems like it threaded feathers together with an unnameable beauty, and lyrics that sound like the person is bragging but in fact, are not that light.... Shall I say that there is a certain level of sincerity within it..? Though it is a melody that sounds like it holds a smile.. I saw the sorrow within it.. When I first heard this song, I just sat there with a vacant look for a while. (11:37am KST)

(Junsu) But above all, when I was singing this song during the death scene.. Though I could never figure it out exactly, it felt like I could somewhat understand what Mozart felt back then... Love me just the way I am... (11:42am KST)

Jaejoong gets deep
(Jaejoong) When, where, what, how, why ..These are quite important.. But there must be something more important that is the top priority above all else. (5:43pm KST)

If I was in Korea, I would have personally gone to scream at these people, no joke. (be strong Yoochun)
(Yoochun) Ah..... My annoyance level has shot up!!! Why, to the people in front of my house~Please leave (8:12pm KST)

(Yoochun) The people in front of my house... No matter how much I think about it, the only conclusion I can make is that they're anti fans (8:26pm KST)

(Yoochun) Seriously...... I'm so tired of this and I hate it...... (8:27pm KST)

Guess JiJi can't scratch Jae right now! (nice one)
(Jaejoong) JiJi's safety claws (11:15pm KST)

Jaejoong Rants about Sasaengs, Let me join you
(Jaejoong) What's worse than Sasaengs, of all the Sasaengs in Korea, are Sasaeng Taxis that work while charging high prices per hour to international fans. It doesn't matter to those who work as SaTaeks (Sasaeng Taxis) for a living that what they do is considered stalking, a crime and an invasion of privacy, as they basically tell us not to meddle in their business because they have a dead-end life anyway. (11:29pm KST)

(Jaejoong) Even if Sasaengs didn't exist, I think Sasaeng Taxis are more vicious evils of society because they lie for 'money' and say that they've found us even when we're not there, and they drive around in empty taxis looking for celebrities so that they can call fans and charge them. If your children or family do this ..I wonder if they know.. that the number of people whose privacy is invaded because of their actions is greater than they think it is. (11:34pm KST)

(Jaejoong) For the past seven years, I didn't have much time to visit friends, acquaintances and family when I had a busy day.. But because of those gaggles of people, I would waste an average of 2, 3 hours a day on the road or I would end up not being able to meet the people I had planned on meeting. I don't think you could call this affection. I understand that they want to see us so very much.. Because I used to feel that way too. (11:49pm KST)

(Jaejoong) All five of our members have cried at home or on the street, or gotten into accidents but all we saw in the front glass of Sasaeng Taxis were smiling faces. Of course, I've tried getting mad in such situations. But let's not commit acts that shorten lives in the name of such a love, not just for my sake, but for everyone's. Sorry for going off like this late at night.. (11:58pm KST)

(Jaejoong) This is kind of irrelevant, but not long ago, I asked Ji Yong, "Ji Yong, do you guys have any Sasaengs or SaTaeks who follow you around?" and he said, "Hyung, what's a SaTaek?;;" haha (12:07am KST)
(T/N: I'm pretty sure he's talking about G-Dragon aka Gwon Ji Yong from Big Bang? But I'm not sure )

(Jaejoong) Though they'll probably harass us more the more I talk about their existence.. What else can I do.. This is something they have to realize about themselves.. (12:18am KST)

LOL Kim Jaejoong IS as confident as Moon Geun Young, Take THAT Moon Hee Joon!
(Jaejoong) I just saw the show.. and I'm a fan of Hee Joon hyung, and a fan of Kangta hyung. I'm a fan of Woo Hyuk hyung. I'm a fan of Tony hyung. I'm a fan of Jae Won hyung. I'm a fan of H.O.T.~ My favorite song is "Deep Love (후애" (3:09am KST)

[TRANS] 101130 JYJ Jaejoong’s Self Composed Song Nine, Signifies The 9 Years With TVXQ

After JYJ’s Jaejoong revealed the meaning behind his self composed song ‘nine’, it became a topic of discussion.

On last Nov. 27th and 28th, the two days concert were finally over. During the concerts the members first performed their self-composed songs such as ‘nine’ and ‘Fallen Leaves’. The self-composed songs caught many fans’ attention.

Jaejoong answered some of the fans’ questions about his self-composed song through twitter. Jaejoong confirmed, “The songs composed by the members in this concert were all completely composed, arranged and had their lyrics written by the members.” Thus starting the discussion about their self-composed songs. The hottest discussion was about Jaejoong’s self-composed song ‘nine’. A line in ‘nine’ lyrics, “Even though it’s hard to start over, but with everyone creating memories, I can’t hide it anymore”. Everyone became even more curious about the song when listening to its sad lyrics. To everyone that is curious about the lyrics of ‘nine’, Hero Jaejoong explained it this way: “From the day Yoochun had joined us, it has been 9 years”.

Jaejoong spent a lot of time writing the lyrics to ‘nine’. “The reason why it took so long for me to write the lyrics for ‘nine’ was because.. I was wondering if it would be better to use poetic expression… or other ways of expressions… And because this song would be presented to you for the first time at the concert, I wanted to express a feeling of ‘talking directly in front of your eyes’ thus it turned out like this.” He also said, “I used the basic chords that I learned when Yoochun first began teaching me how to play the piano, and I created the melody so that it would remind people of music from 10 years ago.. Yoochun who didn’t even know about it, said ‘Hyung.. Why does it have a kind of old feeling to it? Haha..’ ” revealing the little story behind the making of ‘nine’.

Fans had avid responses such as “It’s already been 9 years since they have been together” “So it actually signifies the 5 members of TVXQ” “Just listening to it makes my heart ache”. Other than ‘nine’, Jaejoong also talked about other songs such as ‘Pierrot’ and ’My Scenario’.

[TRANS] 101201 Yunho Behind the Scenes?

I know someone who was a member of staff on the set of 'Heading to the Ground' and from him I came to know Yunho's side of the story (it's been a while now&hellip or I guess I got to know him a little better...
Since I'm a Yunho cosplayer, I didn't really want to ask too many questions (not sure what she meant here). Also, this man wasn't a fan of Yunho and Changmin so he didn't really know the details.

1. Yunho was very tight-lipped
His schedule was very hectic because of the drama and so he didn't know or say much about the members' lawsuit.
This man heard about it elsewhere and casually asked Yunho what was going on and if he was okay.
Yunho smiled and replied 'things will get better'… he didn't say much after that.
The man realized he didnt' want to talk about it so he stopped asking.
From beginning to end, Yunho never uttered a word about the lawsuit (and even though people were curious, no one dared to ask)

2. He was in pain
He (the man) didn't know what it was but it was obvious to everyone else that Yunho was sick, both physically and mentally
He was stressed from filming the drama and he was in pain
Everybody could see it but he refused to admit or even say a word about it
He'd go into his van alone so that people wouldn't see him suffering but the whole world knew
As soon as the director signaled everybody to get into position, he'd step out of the van with a smile plastered on his face like everything was okay
He was always so afraid that other people would worry about him

3. Changmin's silence
Changmin went to visit once or twice but he was always extremely quiet
One time a friend came by and asked 'who's he?' when he saw a boy sitting alone on set
It wasn't until other people said 'TVXQ's Max Changmin' that she finally recognized him
He was so much more beautiful than one would imagine but his appearance was nowhere near as startling as his behaviour… he didn't act like a celebrity at all
He was quiet and distant
He'd arrive, watch and leave soundlessly every time
It made people wonder how he could possibly be a celebrity with an attitude like that...

4. Yunho's sincere gratitude
Yunho's fans offered comfort and relief to everybody
They were willing to act as the audience whenever they were needed (during scenes when they had football matches) and they'd bring food for the crew
They were Yunho's source of energy and motivation
So often the members of staff would say 'Thank God for your fans'
The pride and gratitude in his voice was always obvious whenever his fans became the topic of discussion

5. Yunho won everybody over
Yunho worked extremely hard on the drama and everybody was impressed by his personality
Those who worked with him invited him for future projects together and they really weren't just saying it - they really did like him
When he held the MJ concert, the director of 'Heading to the Ground' went and watched

6. Yunho's weakness...
Our leader-sshi has a fear of bottled drinks...
Most of you will remember the poisoning incident…
Yunho tries to stay away from opened bottles or drinks poured into cups unless he unscrewed the bottle/poured the drink himself
He may look strong but sometimes that's really not the case...

Well that's basically everything I heard. This person didn't go into much detail and it's really not anything that we don't already know…
I've already said before that I'm just a cosplayer and I don't really know this person very well
I really just wanted to share what I heard about Yunho
